Lighting Technologies IGC has officially inaugurated its advanced production facility in Bangalore, marking a major milestone in expanding local manufacturing for energy-efficient LED lighting in India. The grand opening took place on February 5, highlighting the company’s commitment to high-quality, sustainable lighting solutions and strengthened Russian–Indian industrial collaboration.
Spanning approximately 6,000 sq.m, the new plant is engineered for scale and precision with a production capacity of up to 60,000 luminaires per month. The facility focuses on energy-efficient luminaires, delivering superior performance for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure lighting applications.
Designed to meet world-class manufacturing standards, the Bangalore facility integrates:
In-house test laboratory for comprehensive product validation and compliance
SMT line for surface mounting of LED and electronic components
Aluminum casting workshop for high-precision, durable housings
Dedicated R&D department for continuous innovation and localization
By virtue of its advanced equipment and integrated capabilities, the plant sets a benchmark for lighting manufacturing in India, combining quality control, speed, and scalability under one roof.
This project is part of the list of priority investment initiatives under Russian–Indian economic cooperation at the state level. Alongside the plant launch, Lighting Technologies is building an integrated presence in India, including an active Office-Demonstration Center (459 sq.m) and a planned network of regional representative offices to support customers nationwide.
The strategic program includes other high-priority bilateral projects such as butyl rubber production in Jamnagar (Gujarat) by Reliance Industries with Russia’s Sibur, assembly of KAMAZ vehicles in India, the creation of a joint development center for Ka-226T helicopters, industrial tractor assembly with Tractor Plants, and promotion of MS-21 and Sukhoi Superjet-100 passenger aircraft.
The opening ceremony was attended by O.A. Vaskov, Senior Counsel of the Consulate General of Russia in Chennai.
